In order to achieve your goal, you will need to put your best foot forward! Here are a few tips on how to WOW your potential employer:
Research
Google the company, visit their website and learn about what they do, their business culture and history
Be sure to check not only the company’s website but also their LinkedIn profile. More important, check the interviewer’s profile (if they have one – and they should!). That way you will get to know a little bit about the person before you meet them
Be enthusiastic
Employers are only interested in people that are interested in them. Display enthusiasm. With every reply, relay your ‘homework’ efforts and knowledge about the company
Be well groomed
It’s a good idea to try to find out what the company's dress code is. But a general rule of thumb would be that, however informal the work environment may be, you are still better off to be extremely well-groomed and well-presented in your first interview
Ask questions
Think of questions to ask the interviewer. A few samples of some good interview questions are (we encourage you to come up with your own questions):
